It is our belief that some nutrient in some cases give better performance or pH stability than others. However personal preference and subjectivity rules the day. A lot of the time its like asking what’s better? Red or white wine? Bitter or larger? It depends apparently on what your eating with your drink! Well if you believe that then your believe anything. Hydroponics is the same if you find a nutrient you like and you believe it performs well then stick with it. If you are unhappy with your results then experiment with another make or a combination of makes and products, your got nothing to lose.

Nutrients are very important in hydroponics. They are the sole source of nutrition for your plants and you should always feed your plants with the best there is available. At Esoteric Hydroponics, we take our nutrients very seriously and can assure you that we only have on offer the best that there is available on the market today. Generally speaking, there are grow nutrients (for young plants and vegetative growth) and bloom nutrients (flowering and fruiting). Formulations are available for all of our nutrients. Clonex Cutting Gel

Use Clonex for reliable cloning time after time. Just dip 'n' grow. Contains nutrients, anti-microbials and hormones. Recommended.

This growth enhancer has been used by commercial growers for a number of years and has demonstrated the capacity to increase yields time and time again. It is the basis of plant growth enhancement and should be used in all stages of plant growth. Nitrozyme can be added to hydroponic solutions to restore the hormone levels in the plant; to increase levels still further, Nitrozyme can be given through the plant's foliage. Many delighted users. "Soft" formulation designed to suit the more delicate requirements of cuttings (clones) and seedlings. Dilute at 10ml per litre (99:1) and feed to your young plants while they establish themselves. Also ideal for orchids and ferns.

Earthfood

100% organic, this product is based on catalyst altered water, which has a different molecular structure which encourages attraction with free electrons and absorption within the plants circulatory system. It also contains activated carbon, amino acids, organic trace elements and lignite. Earth Food, when added to the nutrient solution, will provide many essential co-factors for improved nutrient uptake.

Nutriculture

British product. Nutrients that are good for all plant species but favourite for your fruit and veg grower. Very strong concentrate goes a very long way.

Wilder

USA made. Nutrients that are good for all plant species. Strong concentrate that goes a long way. Foliar sprays enhance vegetative growth and flower size. Wilder Leaf Feed helps to shorten the internodal distance to produce smaller, more compact plants with higher yields at harvest. Wilder Flower Feed helps to enhance the size and weight of flowers. Hot Pepper Wax is an organic foliar spray which is applied to the leaves, stems, fruits and flowers of the plant. Effectively repels and kills red spider mite and aphids, amongst other pests. This 100% organic formulation has proved to be very effective in dealing with pest problems and is recommended.

Earth Juice

USA nutrient. 100% Organic, natural sources, bats poo etc. Good for all plant species. Strong concentrate that goes a long way. It is the recommended nutrient for soil growers. If you are growing in soil, use Earth Juice Grow & Bloom. 100% organic and excellent results both indoors and outdoors. Use Earth Juice Catalyst as a hydroponic solution additive at the rate of 5ml per litre to turn any hydroponic nutrient into a hydro-organic solution. Canna

Canna PK 13-14 is a nutrient based additive which is added only once to the nutrient tank in the last three weeks of flowering to aid in the development of abundant floral growth. Contains potassium and phosphate, which are indispensable to plants in the flowering stage.

Cannazym is a clever natural product which breaks down old roots to allow for new, healthier roots to form and maximise nutrient uptake. Cannazym aids this process because it contains vitamins that stimulate the plant to form new roots while helping the plant to break down its old roots. To use: add to your nutrient tank. First and foremost, Rhizotonic is a root stimulator for cuttings. A healthy root system is at the heart of a healthy plant. Mineral Magic

A wide variety of benefits can be derived from adding Mineral Magic Pyroclay to your nutrient tank, including increased resistance to powdery mildews, fungi, insect attack, wilt and drought, as well as an increase in flower count and bloom life. Especially recommended in soft water areas.

Superthrive is a vitamin / hormone liquid concentrate. For super healthy plants and bloom, add to your nutrient solution at a rate of one drop per four litres. Superthrive is also an excellent plant reviver for stressed plants.

When added to a foliar spray, it will dramatically increase the ability of the solution to penetrate into leaf tissue and make your foliar sprays more available to the plant. A HydroGarden DataSheet is available for this product.

You will need to calibrate your pH meter regularly to ensure maximum accuracy. Also, many CF (conductivity) meters require calibration.
